I struggle a lot with upper body things because I just lack upper body and grip strength. I love rock climbing but the closest climbing or ninja gym to me is 1 hour 30 minutes away. I’m not old enough to drive myself yet and my parents work so they can’t make that drive very often. What are some ways to help me get a pull up and to increase my grip strength?July 3, 2018 at 3:31 pm #58639

Believe it or not, push ups and sit ups WILL HELP a ton! Start out by doing 5-10 a day for a week and every week go up by 5 until you reach 100 of each a day. By then, you will be able to add pull ups and you should buy a pull up bar for over your doorway.

We bought a pull-up bar, and that really helps, too! I know I might not be an expert, but it has helped me a lot. I would give it a try! ours also came with a swing, a rope ladder, and two rings, and sometimes we put the rings on our swingset to practice going from one to another. I have the same issue with working parents and a far-away ninja gym, so the pull-up bar went a long way for me!
