Personally I like to focus my training on fun, this means climbing, parkour, obstacle courses and playing with my kids. That said there is a time when you are having fun and are really just maintaining your skills and there are times when you are focused on making gains. When I’m training for ninja obstacles I like to do pacing drills and recovery focused drills that push me to work hard and then recover in a short amount of time to be ready for the next obstacle. Breathing patterns and breath awareness are a big focus during these training sessions.
When I’m training for a project or climb I like to mimic movement and build power endurance. I will run finger board training, power workouts and steep roof climbing to best be ready for my project. I tailor my training to best fit the obstacle or project that I am working.
A big part of training for me are the people around me, I love being around people who are motivated and trying their hardest. I think your surroundings play a big part in your overall performance.June 26, 2018 at 8:09 pm #58140
Ninja Warrior is unique in the fact that you have to train multiple disciplines! My favorites are
Parkour for agility, efficiency
Rock Climbing for grip, fingertip strength & endurance
Obstacle specific for technique
Calisthenics for endurance and body control
Fire bending for fire tricks lol
