+ Best natural foods for athletic performance, including additional energy, muscle building and post-workout recovery nutrition/methodologies
Pine pollen and tribulus terrestris are fantastic natural testosterone boosters and can be added to any pre-workout drinks. To boost human growth hormone, intermittent fasting for 24 hours can boost natural HGH levels by up to 2000%, according to a University of Virginia study. Also, goji berries, pineapple and other melatonin-rich foods naturally boost HGH. When it comes to recovery, there are myriad benefits to anti-inflammatory foods such as turmeric with black pepper, reishi and chaga mushroom (both of which are anti-mutagenic) and also MSM, which helps to repair tissue and cartilage.
+ Why alkaline foods are so important for long-term health, disease prevention, and recovery
An optimal pH of 7.2 allows the body to maintain homeostasis – a perfect state of balance. When the body is overly acidic, the body leaches alkaline minerals from our bones and teeth, such as calcium, magnesium and phosphorus, thereby depleting our bone density and mineral reserves. By eating organic, plant-based, highly alkaline foods rich in these minerals, we decrease acidity and build our precious mineral reserves. What’s more, studies have shown that cancer cells can only grow and proliferate in acidic environments. Keeping our bodies alkaline helps to ward off potential diseases, too.
+ My top superfood boosters and medicinal herbs that you can use as rocket fuel in your current recipes
Goji berries are full of amino acids and boost HGH. Chia seeds are full of omega-3 fatty acids and are a natural energy booster. Hemp seeds are up to 33% protein and full of heart-healthy GLA (gamma linoleic acids). And dark greens like watercress are a huge source of antioxidants, which keep your cells healthy by scavenging free radicals and preventing oxidation. I’m also a big fan of raw cacao beans, which are the #1 source of natural magnesium and help to boost PEA in the brain (phenylethlamine, the bliss chemical!) In terms of medicinal herbs, I’m a big fan of Mucuna Pruriens, which is full of L-dopa, which, yes, helps to increase the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. Also a huge fan of cordyceps mushroom, which is a potent energy booster that’s been used by the Japanese Olympic team for decades.
WOW! That’s a MOUTHFUL! You KNOW this changes the game for the Wolfpack Ninjas! We are so modifying our (already healthy) diets IMMEDIATELY! Thank you, NUTRITION NINJA!
